NEUROGENIC BLADDER

Neurogenic bladder is a condition in which problems with the nervous system affect the bladder and urination. Conditions like stroke and Parkinson’s disease can result in neurogenic bladder. Neurogenic bladder is bladder dysfunction caused by neurologic damage.

 

There are two major types of bladder control problems that are associated with a neurogenic bladder. Depending on the nerves involved and nature of the damage, the bladder becomes either overactive or underactive

 

FOLLOWIG ARE MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS OF NEUROGENIC BLADDER:

  • Urinary tract infection (UTI)
  • Kidney stones.
  • Urinary incontinence (unable to control urine)
  • Small urine volume during voiding.
  • Urinary frequency and urgency.
  • Dribbling urine.
  • Loss of feeling that the bladder is full.
